El Departamento de Seguridad Nacional (DHS), bajo la dirección de Kristi Noem, anunció un incremento drástico en el «bono de salida» para inmigrantes indocumentados.
Quienes opten por regresar voluntariamente a sus países antes del 31 de diciembre recibirán $3,000 dólares en efectivo y el pago total de su boleto de avión.
La medida aplica para personas no detenidas o aquellas en custodia sin cargos penales.
La secretaria Noem advirtió que esta es una oportunidad única para salir bajo términos amigables, ya que quienes esperen a ser interceptados por las autoridades perderán cualquier posibilidad de reingreso legal en el futuro.
Se instó a los interesados a utilizar la aplicación CBP Home para agilizar el proceso y llegar a sus hogares antes de Navidad.
